Nodey
The Future of Fast Engineering
Most structural engineering firms still run on PDFs, email chains, and manual work. Nodey runs on our own software, built in-house to suit the way structural engineering actually works. That's why our structural design and PS1s come back in days, not weeks, without cutting corners on compliance.
The real cost of a slow engineer
Every week your structural design sits in someone's queue is a week you're paying for and not building.
Holding costs on the land keep ticking. Your finance drawdown gets pushed out. Trades you've lined up move to the next job.
Your consent clock doesn't even start until the engineering is done.
For a developer, engineering isn't a line item. It's a gate. Everything downstream waits on it. A firm that takes three weeks to turn around a design isn't just slow; it's holding your capital hostage.
We built Nodey to take that gate out of your way.
How we're actually faster (it's the tooling)
Traditional firms are slow because the work is manual. Every calculation re-derived from scratch. Every drawing redrawn. Every revision a full redo. One bottleneck engineer touching every file.
We built our own software to rebuild the workflow itself.
Parametric models, not one-off drawings. We build our structures as parametric models, so when a beam, span, or load changes, the design updates everything connected to it automatically. A revision that takes a traditional firm half a day takes us minutes.
Optimisation across materials in seconds. Because the model is parametric, we can run optimisations across different materials and configurations and see the result in seconds, not days. You get a design that's right, not just the first one that worked.
Automated calculations against NZ standards. Our calculation engine runs load cases and checks against NZS 3604, NZS 3101, NZS 3404 and AS/NZS 1170 automatically. The engineer reviews and signs off sound work instead of punching numbers into a spreadsheet for a day. Faster, with fewer transcription errors.
Drawings linked to calcs, drawings always match design. Our proprietary plugin links the model straight into Revit, so every markup matches the calcs and the drawings always match the design. That consistency is what cuts RFIs from the consent team, and fewer RFIs means faster consent turnaround.
A digital PS1 pipeline. Producer Statements and supporting documentation are generated straight from the model, so what goes to council is consistent, complete, and ready. Fewer round-trips, a faster path to approval. Because the software handles the grunt work, our engineers spend their time where it counts: detailing and coordination, not re-deriving calcs and redrawing sheets.
Same standards. Less waiting. Faster doesn't mean looser. Every Nodey design is checked against the full suite of New Zealand structural standards and signed off by a chartered engineer. The automation removes the grunt work and the waiting, not the rigour. You get compliant, consent-ready engineering, just without the queue.
